Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Johannes Hahn, the EU Commissioner for European Neighborhood and Enlargement

At the meeting Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has presented the draft "Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan, of the one part, and the European Union, of the other part, on the Strategic Partnership" to Johannes Hahn. Noting the strategic relations that Azerbaijan has already had with certain members of European Union, it was stated that the document can pave the way to enhance the relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union at the strategic level.

Updating about the current status of the negotiations on settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, Minister Mammadyarov underlined the importance of expressing clear and unequivocal position of the European Union to Azerbaijan’s fair stance vis-à-vis the conflict.

Meanwhile, issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.

The draft "Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan, of the one part, and the European Union, of the other part, on the Strategic Partnership" was also presented to Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission with the note verbal
